The Study On The Development Of Manufacturing Industry In Shanghai Under The Background Of Reindustrialization In The World

Industrial structure transformation has always been a focus problem.Shanghai government is planning to build and develop both science&technology creative center and economic center,which raise the attention of most scholars and experts to the third industry,neglect to keep an eye on the manufacturing industry.With exploration of economic crisis in 2008,developed countries and areas realized that the national economy couldn't get a steady progression for lack of the real economy,the US-led advanced economies brought out a series of policy proposals to make reindustrialization.According to a policy document that published by Shanghai government in Oct.2016.It suggests to keep the manufacturing in proportion to whole industries and its irrational scale.And now industrial economy of Shanghai is in the state of "Innovation-oriented,transformation to development".So which type of industry accord with Shanghai further development,and how to guide them exactly to optimizing industrial distribution is the key point of the research.This paper deeply analyzed the industrial structure and distribution from such a background and purpose.On the one hand,from the perspective of industrial structure to explore the evolution and sum up parts of global cities' industrial experiences to find out the future direction of Shanghai.On the other hand,from the perspective of industrial distribution.Discussing the guidance of the proper space layout in manufacturing industry by analyzing the evolution of manufacturing industry's distribution and adopting the method of metering to investigate the factors that might affect the distribution of this industry in the metropolitan area.From the industrial structure perspective,Shanghai has already realized the goal of making the service sector be the leading industry.Furthermore,the portion of tertiary industry has significantly excessed the level of the secondary industry with an increasing trend currently.According to the analysis of manufacturing industry,the competition between labor-intensive and resource-intensive enterprise has been declining to some extent,while the technology-intensive and capital-intensive ones have higher market shares.From the experience of New York and Tokyo manufacturing industry's development,since the global manufacturing industries are on the recovery stage.The manufacturing industry in Shanghai has to optimize and upgrade itself,give the priority to develop advanced manufacturing industry,especially the ones with the characteristics of capital-intensity and knowledge-intensity,speed up the creation industrial parks and accelerate the spatial concentration of industry development to maintain the industry scale.From the industrial distribution perspective,the location distribution of employment in manufacturing industry in Shanghai has basically realized the suburbanization.Those stable sub centers,such as Jiading,Xinzhuang and Songjiang industrial park have emerged recently.The factors like location,transportation,land price and policy are all playing prominent roles of job location distribution of manufacturing industry.The employment of manufacturing industry normally gather at the places where are far away from the city center,such as nearby the train station as well as the places with lower land prices.Moreover,the two policy variable,municipal development zone and new towns in suburb can also yield significant results.Through the analysis of influence factors in different industries,the research found that employment agglomeration factors varied between industries.The factor of government had a significant positive effect in every industry,while factors of transportation and land price played different roles in different industries.In order to realize the rationalization of manufacturing industry distribution and the optimization of urban spatial structure,governments should respect and follow the rule of the market and provide the corresponding infrastructures and location supplements for different industries to select their sites with their own industrial characteristics.
