Research On The Optimization Of Urban Tourism Spatial Structure In Shanghai

With the development of urban tourism, the optimization of urban tourism spatial structure has become a great concerned issue both at home and abroad. At the metropolitanization process, which is characterized by the"international metropolis"and"world-class cities cluster", the urban development model transforms from a single index of economic development to the multi-dimensional index of"harmonious development", that is, economic development, human development, social progress and ecological civilization, which points out a new direction for the sustainable development of urban tourism in Shanghai. It has become an important measure of sustainable development to optimize and analyze the urban tourism spatial structure and to reasonably plan and lay out urban tourism space in Shanghai.The paper first summarizes the domestic and international research progress on spatial structure of urban tourism, and related concepts have been defined. Then it sums up the basic theories of the urban tourism spatial structure studies and illustrates the constituent elements and their spatial patterns of evolution. It is proposed that the modes of urban tourism spatial structure should be different at different stages. Moreover, optimization of urban tourism spatial structure is discussed, from the aspects such as formulation of policies, direct investment and infrastructure construction and so on to optimize the overall function of urban tourism spatial structure. Based on the above theoretical studies, the paper analyzes the urban tourism development stages, the problems facing the development of urban tourism in Shanghai and its spatial and temporal distribution characteristics. Also the strategies to optimize the urban tourism spatial structure in Shanghai are proposed. This article holds the view that the development of the core sector and connection of the periphery sector is a pivotally strategic measure for the urban tourism development in Shanghai, which is a spatial relation of the strength to be mutually beneficial, and cooperate for the win of both sides. In a word, at the micro level it should focus on industrial restructuring requirements on the replacement of tourism spatial structure. At meso level it should focus on the coordinating development of periphery sector and the core sector and at the macro level it must be placed on the Yangtze River Delta city cluster. Besides, related strategies and measures of the optimization of urban tourism spatial structure in Shanghai are put forward.This article stresses that under the guidance of the spatial development strategy of Shanghai urban tourism, some countermeasures of optimizing and developing urban tourism spatial structure are put forward. In addition, two aspects are emphasized, which are spatial framework optimization and core optimization of Shanghai urban tourism.
