With the boom of Chinese tourism industry, the influence of tourism on social, cultural, environmental and economic aspects of a destination is increasing.Community residents are direct receivers of these changes, therefore,as a barometer of the development of destination tourism, residents' perceptions and attitudesare hot topics in the field of tourism.Experts and scholars both at home and abroad measure the development of a destination by these aspects. In the diversified tourist market,an increasing number of tourists are fascinated by ancient villages because of their special significance in history, art, architecture and folk,so touris to these places stands out from the fierce market competition.Community residents are the core of the development of ancient village tourism, and the harmony of residents and other stakeholders has already become the precondition in the sustainable development of ancient village tourism.Based on the domestic and foreign research and selecting ancient villages in Wuyuan as example to study, this thesis develops the scale of tourism perceptions and attitudes of community residents, establishes a presumptive model to study the connections among the community attachment, community involvement, environmental attitudes, perceived cost of tourism, perceived benefits of tourism, and support for tourism development, and does exploratory factor analysis, variance analysis and confirmatory factor analysis by SPSS19.0 and AMOS20.0.This thesis not only analyzes Wuyuan residents' perceptions and attitudes on the influence of tourism, but also studies the relationships among residents' perceptions, support for tourism development and the factors which influence residents' support for tourism development. Finally, based on the results, this thesis proposes some suggestionstoimprovethe tourism support for the ancient village residentsin order to promote sustainable tourism development. The main conclusions of this thesis are:(1)community involvementpositively influences on perceived benefits of tourism and residents' support for its development, and the influence of community participation on perceived benefit is greater than its impact on support;(2)environmental attitudes positively influences on perceived benefits of tourism and residents' support for its development, environment attitudes have more influence on the support for the ancient villages;(3)A positive relationship exists between perceived benefits of tourism and residents' support for its development(4)Although the residents of ancient villages have great affection for their community,a positively relationship doesn't exist between community attachment and residents' support for its development(5)community participation and environmental attitudes don't negatively impact on perceived cost of tourism, while perceived cost of tourism has a negative impact on tourism support.(6)The mean of tourism positive impacts of residents in Wuyuan ancient villages are higher, but the residents start to keep a watchful eye on the negative impacts of tourism.(7)The residents with different demographic characteristics have discrepancy in the six variables of community attachment, community involvement, environmental attitudes, perceived cost of tourism, perceived benefits of tourism and residents' support for its development.
