The continuous growing of transportation activates the expansion of aircraft fleet, and brings broad prospect for the civil aviation maintenance enterprise. But it also leads to more and more new maintenance enterprises.Plus the economic downturn effect, the competition becomes now more and more severe. To achieve competitive excellence, civil aviation maintenance enterprise-T company have to figure out how to increase the efficiency ratio in maintenance and meanwhile, not to degrade the maintenance quality, such as shorten the TAT(Tun-Around-Time),and saving the cost via eliminating the unnecessary waste in maintenance work. One feasible solution is to apply the lean maintenance into the civil aviation maintenance works. With the effective application of lean maintenance, working environment can be improved and better process can be developed.Wastes can be reduced and costs can be saved. It can also help to accomplish the work within shorter time period. The methodology of this study could be described as followings:Firstly, briefly introduce the lean maintenance and aviation maintenance concept. Then, tell the reader about the background of T company A project and the challenges it faces.Next step is to focus on the implementation of lean maintenance, with the examples of 7 lean tools application in different production sections. These tools include rapid process improvement, visual management,5S,site layout improvement, value stream mapping,Kanban management and multi-skill training program. The study result is inspiring, the average TAT of A project is improved.Under the premise of no obvious increasing investment in A project, productivity is significantly improved, the challenges of A project are relieved. The lean maintenance application exerts a very well effect on the T company A project.
