Research On The Operating Efficiency And Influencing Factors Of China's Agricultural Insurance Companies

All along,China is a large agricultural country,agriculture is the foundation of the economy and the basic livelihood of country,but natural disaster happened frequently in our country,so agricultural insurance is important.In the support and concern of the central document,agricultural insurance developed rapidly,the premium income increased from 377 million in 2004 to more than 32 billion in 2014,the original agricultural insurance income premiums accounted for the proportion increased from 0.35% to 4.32%,agricultural insurance premiums totalled more than 150 billion yuan,the payment for farmers has accumulated up to more than 90 billion,at the meantime,policy agricultural insurance had occupied 31 provinces,autonomous regions and municipalities,and agriculture,forest,animal husbandry and fishery and other fields also have been involved.Practice shows that,in recent years,agricultural insurance has became an important source of funding for the post disaster recovery,reproduction and the basic living.In addition,in some area,agricultural insurance compensation is most important source of and farmers to restore agricultural reproduction and solve basic life.In this way,agricultural insurance brought into full play the function of ecnomic compensation.Agricultural insurance plays a decisive role,also asked us recognize the situation of operating efficiency of agricultural insurance company objectively and how to improve the efficiency of agricultural insurance institutions,so it is necessary to study of China's agricultural insurance company efficiency.Based on the comprehensive understanding of progress of the insurance industry efficiency measurement method,We use data envelopment analysis to calculate the efficiency of ten major agricultural insurance companies from2010 to 2014,estimating the efficiency mainly includes comprehensive technical efficiency,pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency,and using Malmquist index method to analysis the research sample.On this basis,assumed the factors that influence the efficiency,and establish the Tobit regression model to test the significance of the influence factors,and analyze the effect size and direction of the factors.Finally,on the basis of empirical research and analysis,the paper puts forward some suggestions to improve the efficiency of agricultural insurance companies in China.The paper is divided into five chapters,the content of each chapter is followed.The first chapter mainly introduces the background and significance of the paper,the reviewed about relevant literature,the idea and methods of the research and pointed out the innovation and deficiency.The second chapter introduces the related concept and model.Firstly,elaborated the concept of efficiency and efficiency evaluation method,and then introduced the DEA-Malmquist model and Tobit model that will be used in article,laying the groundwork for the following.The third chapter is an empirical study of agricultural insurance company efficiency.Firstly,construct the model,and then select the input and output indicators and describe data sources.Finally,evaluate he efficiency of agricultural insurance company from two aspects of static and dynamic.The fourth chapter assumes the influence factors firstly,then use Tobit model to test the the significance of the influence factors,to confirm the factors that affecting the efficiency of the agricultural insurance company.Research shows that company size,human capital,the nature of the comprehensive technical efficiency have significantly negative influence to overall technical efficiency.Market share,management ability,mechanism properties have positive and significant influence to agricultural insurance company.On the basis of the third chapter and the fourth chapter,the fifth chapter expounds the main conclusions of the article,and puts forward some relevant suggestions on the basis of the conclusion.
