In the 1760 s, it is an age witnessed the continuous change and development of industry. Then in nearly one hundred years, the British economy developed rapidly at an alarming rate, not only completed the industrial revolution, becoming the world's first industrialized countries, but also being the "world factory" with its overall economic strength, forming a world market with it as the center. The British cotton textile industry is the dominant industry through the whole industrial revolution, which also leading the British "economic take-off'In this thesis, we study on the development of modern British cotton textile industry, on one hand, systematically discusses the infrastructure and conditions in the process of emergence, the interaction and connect of various aspects of production factors in the subsequent development, so as to reveal the comprehensive reasons of the rising of the modern British cotton textile industry; on the other hand, shows the effects the development of the cotton textile industry bringing to UK as well as to the first industrial revolution, and then rose to the first economic globalization cotton textile industry caused. On this basis, finally tries to provide objective historical reference and inspiration to various countries'economic development and changes of the transfer of cotton textile industry in the world market.Excepting the introduction part, the main body is divided into four parts, six chapters.The first part of the thesis mainly discusses the development of the early British cotton textile industry. Start from its spread and introducing, shows the impact the arrival of the cotton fabric onto the traditional woolen textile; Then analysis the relationship between the Britain's natural environment and the characteristics of cotton textiles; Finally from the perspective of national policy, explains the early British colonial policy and overseas hegemony policy, which encouraged and supported the cotton textile, this not only destroyed the traditional cotton textile industry in India, but also beat the competitors in France on the European continent, thus, creating a favorable environment at home and abroad for the early development of the cotton textile industry.The second part is divided into two chapters, mainly discusses the cotton textile industry in terms of production factors. First from the changes and innovations of technology which is the most critical element, analyzes the mechanical device of the invention, the use of steam power and chemical new discoveries in the field these three aspects; Then discusses other important elements, namely, the source of capital and labor, reasonable production organization form and modern capitalist entrepreneur's personal factors, which shows the relation and interaction of various factors during the developing of the British cotton textile industry.The third part of this thesis not only discusses the big development of both the British cotton textile industry and import trade, but also reveals the related changes of original raw cotton regions and imported countries. In terms of importing raw cotton, with India, the United States as the main cases, shows the number of supply of raw materials and changes cotton brings to each country; In exports, it analyzes the relative shift of export region, taking China as an example, concretely discusses the influence of the cotton textile industry to other countries, implying it's integration to the whole world economy.The fourth part is divided into two sections, on one hand, discusses the effect of cotton textile industry to the UK economy, it has brought the economic "take-off", promoted the completion of the British industrialization, and to a large extent, the spread the industrial revolution to Europe and the United States and other countries, triggering the arrival of industrial revolution in western capitalist countries; On the other hand, taking British cotton textile industry as the center, rose to the height of the economic globalization, with its development changing the structure of the world, integrating the world economy, and bringing the first economic globalization in human history. Finally in the conclusion part, on the basis of the British cotton textile industry, provides a model of economy development for each country, and explains the transfer of cotton textile industry and the change of the world market, giving reference and inspiration to the development of China's cotton textile industry.This thesis taking the modern British cotton textile industry's development as the clue, and by comprehensively analyzing and investing to the factors of its growing, trying to illustrate that the cotton textile industry not only promoted the "departure" of the domestic economy, leading the arrival of the industrial revolution and its spread to European and American capitalist countries, but also implied the first integration of the world economy, promoting the arrival of the economic globalization's. The British cotton textile industry taking India and the United States as the source places of raw material, relying on its advanced technology and production organization, selling its processed cotton textiles to all over the world. Meanwhile, contains the national labor, global capital flow and technical exchanges. Use cotton "connect" the world, integrating the world, driving the advent of economic globalization.
