A Study On The Research And Development Mode And Path Analysis Of Tomorrow Seed Company Under The Commercialized Breeding System

Seed industry as a nationally core industry,has a strategic and fundamental influence on the long-term stable development of Chinese agriculture and food security.China now has become one of the world's largest seed market.For example,Chinese market scale reached 30 billion CNY in 2007,and 39.6 billion CNY in 2009.In 2013,the market sharply rose to 66.8 billion CNY.At present,China is in the critical period of comprehensively deepening reform,in which the traditional agriculture is in a transition to modern agriculture,the traditional seed industry is in transition to a modern seed industry,and the traditional breeding pattern of research institutes also is in a process of transition to the "commercialized breeding" and "commonweal breeding" patterns.This study is focused on the breeding R&D mode and path of Tomorrow Seed Company.First of all,I have analyzed the company's external conditions under the commercialized breeding system,such as policy changes,competitive pressures at home and abroad,etc.,as well as its internal conditions,including the company's development foundation,variety resources,R&D team,competitive advantages and disadvantages,etc.Then,on the basis of above analysis,I have summarized the restricting factors existing in the transition from an academy-run company to a modern commercialized one,especially the main obstacle and critical problems in the process of transformation and upgrading of its R&D mode.Last but not least,starting from the dimensions like R&D mode,seed selection and positioning,R&D team building and motivation,R&D platform construction,etc.I have put forward some suggestions for Tomorrow Seed Company to build a competitive R&D mode so as to satisfy the demands of today's commercialized breeding system.The results of this study show that:?.Commercialized breeding has become an inevitable trend of the seed industry development;?.Scientific innovation is the support and the engine of seed industry;?.Breeding integration is a practicable mode for commercialized breeding development.Tomorrow Seed Company in the process of commercialization has a favorable macro environment and corresponding technical conditions,but,it also faces certain competitive threats.Even if Tomorrow Seed Company has a good platform and certain advantages in food research and development,however,it lacks internationally strategic positioning and world's leading R&D team.On the one hand,the conclusion of this study can provide guidance and suggestions for Tomorrow Seed Company to carry out seed R&D effectively under the commercialized breeding environment and to survive in the fierce market competition;on the other hand,the discussion on the target market positioning of commercialized breeding,management,operating mechanism of R&D,funds input,research output and incentive,etc.can provide a reference for other enterprises,especially the middle and small-sized enterprises,to help them speed up the commercialized breeding procedure under the background of new policy on commercialized breeding,provide a case-based support for the government to formulate a policy on commercialized breeding R&D for seed industry,at the same time,it also can promote to establish a sound commercialized breeding system in China,in which seed enterprises will act as the main body of R&D.
