Research On The Influence Of Connection Network On The Urban Economic Growth In China

With the rapid development of information technology and transportation,the relationship between cities is becoming more and more extensive,and it is no longer confined to the space adjacent cities,but gradually forms a multidirectional communication network.In the network,cities interact with traffic flow,information flow,and logistics and so on.In recent years,the relation between cities in our country has been increasing continuously and tends to be more and more complicated,in addition to the division between spatial pattern of urban system based on city connection,it is necessary to study the economic effect produced by the city network,and explore the influence of network on urban economic growth in China.In order to study the connection network,the paper constructs a measurement index of connection network through the non-agricultural population and the distance between cities based on gravity model,which is the network flux,and the network flux indicates the correlation between cities.This paper draws the distribution map of the maximum gravity connection line from 2005 to 2014,respectively,from the provincial scale and national scale,it shows that,as time goes on,the node in the city network is gradually increasing,the relationship between cities has been continuously strengthened,China's city network tends to improve and become perfect;moreover,by comparing the network flux and total economic output in urban areas above prefecture level in 2005 and 2014,there is a certain correlation between the network flux and city economic growth.In order to study the relationship between connection network and urban economic growth in China quantitatively,the paper introduces this index into the production function model,and then tests empirical analysis combining traditional factors of production by using the panel data of 260 prefecture-level cities or higher lever cities over the period of 2005-2014.The results show that,on one hand,in the network of both provincial scale and national scale,investment in fixed assets is still an important factor in promoting China's economic growth,and the current economic growth is inseparable from the physical capital investment;however,the connection network has an obvious positive effect on cities' economic growth in China.The role of network in urban economic growth is still less important than internal production factors,but if one city wants to improve economic growth,in addition to increase their production inputs,the role of connection network between the cities cannot be ignored.On the other hand,through the contrast of different network correlation scales,the influence of national scale connection network on urban economic growth is greater than that of provincial scale network.This shows that a city in strengthening connections with the outside world,but more importantly,to strengthen the nationwide network of urban connections.In addition,this paper also makes an empirical analysis of the impact of the connection network on the urban economic growth in China's four major regions,both from the national scale and provincial scale.Results show that,from the regional point of view,China's different regions of the network of urban economic growth impact is different,the connection network of the central region has no significant effect on economic growth in the region,while the network of the eastern,western and northeastern parts have a significant role in promoting the economic growth of the city,and the role of the northeast's connection network is the biggest;from the different scales of view,in the same region,the national scale and provincial scale connection network also have different effects on the urban economic growth,the connection network of provincial scale in eastern region has greater impact on urban economic growth than the national scale,in western region,the influence of the national scale network is greater than the provincial scale on economic growth,while the impact of national scale connection network in northeast China on economic growth has little difference with the provincial scale.
