This article uses CHIP (China Household Income Projects)2013 data for empirical analysis, discusses the differences in the quality of education between urban and rural residents. And further analysis the influence of higher education on residents' income.The impact of education on income in China is mostly focused on the differences in academic qualifications, this paper is the type of college institutions on the impact of income analysis, which we choose according to the difference in the quality of education,respectively. the weight of institutions and non-heavy institutions , Undergraduate and college graduates to conduct a comparative analysis.k As personal ability affects both the opportunity to receive higher education and the impact of personal income, In order to eliminate endogeneity, we use the weighted least squares method to estimate the personal income model, the weighted is propensity score that is represent the individual's acceptance of college educational opportunities. Indicating that, First, the types of high school institutions have a positive and significant effect on the choice of the opportunity for residents to receive higher education in universities. That is, urban-level key high school students compared to county-level key high school students have a greater chance to accept high-quality university education. Second, the difference in the quality of higher education represented by the difference between undergraduate type and academic degree has a significant impact on the individual income of the residents. Specifically, under the same conditions, the students of the key undergraduate colleges are 14.25% more likely than the students of the ordinary undergraduate colleges. The residents of the undergraduate degree will be 20.16% higher than those of the bachelor degree.According to the results of this study and the current situation of education in order to promote educational equity, the government needs to increase the financial investment of county high schools and the training of these teachers. China's investment in education should also be tilted to the high school education stage.
