As one of the major manufacturers in global motorcycle market,company Y mainly focused on the manufacturing of various motorcycles and engines.However,due to the strategy of business diversification,company Y began to develop other facilities,such as agricultural helicopters and customized yachts.Then the traditional procurement strategy was insufficient to evaluate the suppliers when facing the trend of globalization and product diversification.In the original supplier selection strategy,price was the single factor to be evaluated.But the diversity of products required different standards of quality and technologies.In addition,overseas suppliers usually fail to deliver on time.Therefore,company Y desired for a new supplier evaluation system.First at all,this paper reviewed literatures about supplier evaluation criteria and selected the criteria suitable for company Y.Secondly,Max-Min Fuzzy Delphi Method was used to do the questionnaire survey.Then the evaluation factors were obtained according to the data analysis and comments of experts in company Y.Finally,the supplier evaluation index system with four dimensions of quality,cost,delivery and development ability was built.Using the analytic hierarchy process(AHP)method,this paper then analyzed the weight of each evaluation factor.This research is helpful for company Y to evaluate the supplier's ability efficiently.Meanwhile,it is also useful for other companies to build up their own supplier evaluation systems.
