An Empirical Study On The Logistics Efficiency Of Countries Along “Yuxinou” International Railway And Its Influence Factors

In September,2013,Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed the initiatives called “the Silk Road Economic Belt”,In October of the same year,he proposed the initiatives called “the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road”(referred to “One Belt and One Road”),they were conducted to promote the deeper development and cooperation of China and the countries along the line and seek benefit as well as happiness for the people of all countries.As an unique hardware advantage of Chongqing,the “Yuxin'ou” railway plays a decisive role in the “One Belt and One Road” construction.With “Yuxin'ou” international lines running into normalization,the runtime is ceaselessly shortened and the row numbers of “Yuxin'ou” international lines is continuous increasing,which results in larger logistics demand scale in countries along “Yuxin'ou” international railway including China and it imposes higher requirement on the logistics efficiency of these countries,but at present,the overall level of logistics efficiency is still low in countries along “Yuxin'ou” international railway,therefore,making the study on logistics efficiency of countries along “Yuxin'ou” international railway and finding out the main factors affecting the logistics efficiency so as to carry out planning,management and implementation on the development of countries' logistics industry and make it improved will play an important role in promoting the “One Belt and One Road” construction.First of all,on the basis of accurately defining some concepts related to logistics efficiency,this paper puts forward that the influential factors of logistics efficiency include the level of economic development,logistics resource utilization,industrial structure and location advantages through reading relevant literature home and abroad and considering development status of logistics industry in countries along “Yuxin'ou” international railway.Secondly,the paper chooses the number of employees,investment of fixed assets and level highway mileages in transportation,warehousing and postal service industry as the input indexes,the output value,freight volume and freight turnover as output indexes to measure and evaluate the logistics efficiency of six countries along “Yuxin'ou” international railway by means of DEA model in 2005-2014,the result shows that the logistics efficiency is largely different between countries along “Yuxin'ou” international railway,some countries have high logistics efficiency such as Germany and Kazakhstan,but the logistics efficiency of Belarus and Poland is grossly low.Thirdly,the Tobit regression model is used to analyze the correlation between the logistics efficiency and its influential factors.Empirical results show that: the logistics efficiency of countries along “Yuxin'ou” international railway is positively correlated with every factor,the degree of saliency successively is: location advantages,logistics resource utilization,the level of economic development and industrial structure.Finally,this paper gives a theoretical explanation for the result of empirical research and puts forward some effective policies as well as suggestions to enhance the logistics efficiency of the countries along “Yuxin'ou” international railway,such as integration and optimization of logistics resources,improving the level of economic development,improving the utilization of logistics resources,the establishment of modern logistics information and trading platform and so on.
