With the acceleration of economic globalization and China's marketization,small and medium enterprises are playing an increasingly important role in economic development and structural adjustment of China.Scholars believe that survival and development model of Chinese SMEs rooted in its unique special relationship network.Chinese SMEs acquire resources,enhance the capacity,collaborate and share revenue by building a close and complex relationship network to realize network growth.However,the network has its sunny side,also has its dark side.Cooperation and conflict are both natural part of the network.Due to its congenital deficiencies,Chinese SMEs are always facing the threat of conflict in the process of network growth and relationship conflict management is an important aspect of maintaining and applying of relationship network.Therefore,the network growth of SMEs is essentially a process of resolving various relationship conflicts and relationship conflict management capacity of SMEs affects the success of their network growth.This paper focused on the relationship management capacity of Chinese SMEs in the process of network growth.First,this paper hackled the development of enterprise growth theory,conflict management theory and enterprise competence theory.Second,this paper discussed the identifications and dimensions of relationship conflict management capacity of SMEs,networks stability and enterprise growth performance.Third,this paper proposed the hypothesis and establislied a research model.The independent variable of the model is relationship conflict management capacity,and the dependent variable of the model is enterprise growth performance,while the mediator of the model is network stability.Fourth,this paper selected 255 SMEs in Tianjin.Wuhu and Wuxi as research example,which is diverse in the industry and scale.Through designing,issuing,and recycling of questionnaire and the empirical analysis,research hypothesis had been tested.Finally,conclusion of this paper are listed as follows:(1)conflict perception capacity,conflict controlling capacity and conflict mediation capacity had a significant positive impact on relationship network stability and enterprise growth performance,while relationship reconstruction capacity had a significant positive impact on relationship network stability while failed to has a significant positive impact on enterprise growth performance;(2)network stability has a significant positive impact on business growth performance;(3)network stability played a mediating role between relationship conflict management capacity and enterprise growth performance.Therefore,by nurturing relationship conflict management capacity,Chinese SMEs can take full advantage of the network resource and network structure to maintain the stability of the network.It makes SMEs effectively capture the potential value of relationships by lasting relationship rental revenue,which promotes the improvement of enterprise growth performance and realize network growth.
