At present,China's economy is in a downward phase, many of the problems covered by the rapid economic growth and contradictions exposed and intensified. The structural imbalance between supply and demand in the low-end overcapacity, insufficient supply of high-end products, the proportion of investment but lower, but the proportion of low consumption potential, these two problems seriously restricting the sustainable economic growth in China. Therefore,China needs to upgrade our industry, adjust the overcapacity of the industry, encourage and support the development of high-end industries, improve our product supply structure, strengthen the supply structure of the change of market demand structure adaptability and flexibility; It is necessary to optimize the consumption structure of urban residents in China, and exert the potential of consumption to economic development. While industrial upgrading has an important influence on the consumption structure and so on industrial upgrading is studied how to affect the problem of urban residents' consumption structure, will help clarify the mechanism of the industrial upgrading of the consumption structure of urban residents, and the upgrading of the consumption structure influence, provide suggestions for China's industrial upgrading and optimize the consumption structure of urban residents. This paper first through the literature review, describes the current situation as the foundation;through qualitative analysis put forward the theory mechanism of consumption structure of urban residents industrial upgrading;then use China's 31 Regional Panel Data from 1995 to 2014,the establishment of industrial upgrading of urban residents' consumption structure model to make quantitative analysis on China's industrial upgrading effect on the consumption structure of urban residents;finally, according to the analysis of this paper put forward some policy suggestions. The empirical analysis of this paper is divided into two parts: the first part is the consumption expenditure of urban residents is divided into living consumption expenditure, enjoy the type of consumption expenditure, development expenditure, analysis of industrial upgrading on the consumption level of urban residents and theimpact of these three categories of consumer spending overall data; The second part is to use the Engel coefficient to represent the consumption structure of urban residents, and analyze the regional differences of the consumption level and consumption structure. The results of the empirical analysis of overall data show that industrial upgrading has significant positive effect on the level of consumption of urban residents;industrial upgrading has a significant impact on these three types of consumer spending, has a significant effect on the survival of the negative type of consumer spending and the development of consumer spending, has significant positive impact on enjoy the type of consumer spending.Regional difference analysis showed that the upgrading of urban residents' consumption of water in the eastern region has a positive impact,in the northeast region is negative, the central region and the western region is not significant;industrial upgrading has a significant negative impact on the central and western regions and northeast regions of the Engel coefficient of urban residents, namely industrial upgrading to promote the improvement of the consumption structure of urban residents in these areas, there is no significant effect on the eastern region.
