The Impact Of Industrial Structure Upgrade On The New-type Urbanization Process

Urbanization is a key strategy to modernization,and it is China's greatest potential of domestic demand and development.It is of great significance for the comprehensive construction of a modern socialist country.The development of urbanization is conducive to expanding domestic demand,increasing production efficiency,promoting the optimal allocation of factor resources,increasing the ability of economic radiation,and improving the level of public services.Different from the traditional urbanization model,new-type urbanization pays more attention to the quality of urbanization and covers many aspects such as population,economy,society,living standard,infrastructure,and ecological civilization.The upgrading of industrial structure is an endogenous driving force for social sustainable development and a powerful engine for economic growth.Under the background of supplyside structural reforms,how to adjust the existing industrial structure to meet the requirements of high quality development is the key to the successful transformation of China's economy.Based on the requirements for the development of urbanization in the new era,this paper selects 12 representative indicators from the six aspects,including population,economy,society,living standard,infrastructure,and ecological civilization,to construct the index system of new-type urbanization.And using improved entropy method to give weight to each indicator and calculates the comprehensive score of the new-type urbanization development level for each province.Quantify the upgrading of industrial structure from the horizontal and vertical dimensions.And introduce its interactive items to establish a panel data regression model to study the impact of industrial structure upgrading on the process of new-type urbanization in the eastern,central and western regions of China.The empirical results show that in the national and regional samples,from the perspective of vertical dimension and horizontal dimension,the upgrading of industrial structure plays a significant positive role in promoting the development of the new-type urbanization process,and the effect intensity shows regional differentiation.The interaction coefficient is negative,indicating that the two dimensions of China's industrial structure are mutually inhibited.Finally,this paper analyzes the causes of regional differentiation and puts forward some suggestions and prospects.
