Research On Supply Chain Management In The Apparel Industry

With the development of economy and technology,the market environment of China’s garment industry has undergone great changes.The business model and sup-ply chain model are compatible with the market environment,change with the chang-es in the market environment.By studying the traditional and new clothing supply chain,it is of great theoretical and practical significance to guide the change and de-velopment of Chinese garment enterprises.Based on literature review and case analysis,this paper studies the traditional clothing supply chain model based on the background and theory of the garment in-dustry.It is found that some of the traditional supply chain is difficult to adapt to the rapid development of the market.Under the order mode,garment enterprises will pre-dict the demand six months in advance or even longer time.This prediction has a great risk,leading to the inventory pressure of corporate.Franchise mode,although in the early occupation of the market quickly played a significant role,with the devel-opment of enterprises,the drawbacks of the model has also been exposed.With the rise of e-commerce,traditional garment enterprises have to carry out online business,expand sales channels.However,due to the online channel and offline channel man-agement is fragmented,uneven development have had an impact on each other.In order to make the clothing industry better development,the change of supply chain is imperative.Through the study on the supply chain of foreign giants garment enterprises,it is found that the new clothing supply chain has the following changes:(1)Enterprises adopt SPA model to emphasize the profit and speed,pay more atten-tion to merchandise planning.(2)With the clear division of labor in society,in the operation of enterprises,the non-core business outsourcing can enable enterprises to focus on efficiency in the core business,improve the efficiency of the entire supply chain.(3)Strengthen the integration of online and offline direct sales mode construc-tion.Remove the order,the franchisee and other sectors,and the length of clothing supply chain is greatly reduced.Direct stores can help businesses better capture the needs of consumers,so that business-to-shop management and control capabilities are greatly enhanced.(4)In the link of clothing supply chain,pay attention to the con-struction of automated logistics center.Unlike previous simple warehouses,the logis-tics center greatly enhanced the supply chain operational capacity.Though the establishment of the performance evaluation model of the clothing enterprise supply chain,the evaluation to the supply chain operation of the case gar-ment enterprises is carried out,which verifies the advancement and feasibility of the new clothing supply chain model.
