With the globalization of the economy and market, the manufacturingenterprises in China, the world’s biggest manufacturing nation, have to face theproblems such as how to maintain the competitiveness and how to cope withthe new challenges. The garments manufacturing industry also applies. In orderto gain advantages in the market, the garment manufacturing enterprises shouldenforce the cooperation with other ones from the same supply chain. Theyshould work together instead of competing against to engage in the market, forthe benefit of a whole integrated supply chain. It has been the upmost solutionto improve competitiveness through supply chain management and supplychain integration.This dissertation focuses on the supply chain of J Apparel, combining thefactors of China’s local industry characteristics, making a research on thesituation of supply chain integration for Chinese garments manufacturers.Firstly it offers the contents and methods for the research. Secondly it analyzes the industry background and the current situation of the supply chainmanagement for Chinese garment manufacturers, together with the businessstatus for J Apparel and the challenges it is facing. Thirdly the dissertationspecifies the main weakness that J Apparel is facing when implementing thesupply chain integration and the reasons. Finally it gives possible suggestionsfor J Apparel to improve the supply chain integration. With this article, theauthor aims to provide clues for Chinese manufacturers in all industry toimprove their supply chain integration.
