Based on the CFPS survey data, this paper gives a brief overview of the income distribution, income inequality and urban-rural income distribution differential of the residents in our country. It is concluded that the income distribution of our residents has the characteristics of "spikes" and "right deviation" and the income distribution gap between residents is serious.Rural residents income inequality is higher than urban residents.Furthermore, this paper uses the relative distribution method to analyze the changes of residents income distribution and the income distribution differential between urban and rural residents in detail, and also use the relative polarization index to study the change trend of residents income polarization and the difference between urban and rural income polarization. The results show that economic growth has led to higher income groups and middle income groups flowing to higher income levels, and the impact of economic growth on the proportion of the highest income group is more sensitive, especially the highest income group proportion of rural residents. The distribution effect on the income distribution of our residents is very complicated and the influence direction is uncertain. The polarization of residents' income is increasing year by year, but the degree of intensification is weakening. The polarization of the income distribution of urban residents is higher than that of rural residents.Secondly, this paper also summarizes the consumption distribution of Chinese residents, the change of consumption quantiles and the consumption gap between urban and rural areas. It is concluded that the distribution of consumption in our country also has the characteristics of "spikes" and "right deviation",and the consumption density curve become gradually flat with the increase of the year, the per capita household consumption level of urban residents is obviously higher than corresponding rural residents, and the consumption gap between urban and rural residents is very large.Through the relative distribution method, the analysis of the changes in the consumption distribution of residents and the consumption distribution differential between urban and rural residents are carried out.The results show that the proportion of the lowest consumption groups of urban residents is higher than that of rural residents, and the degree of polarization of residents' per capita household consumption is increasing year by year in urban, and the degree of polarization of urban consumption distribution is higher than that of rural residents in the corresponding years. In the end,the unconditional quantile regression model is used to study the effect of income on consumption. The results show that the net income per capita household in the current period has a very significant positive effect on the per capita household consumption. The regression coefficient of income increases with the consumption level of the residents. And the impact of income on the per capita household consumption of urban residents is greater than that of rural residents. From 2010 to 2014,the marginal effect of per capita household net income on per capita household consumption of urban residents is decreasing first and then increasing, and the marginal effect of net income per capita household of rural residents on the lowest consumer groups(0.1 quantile)is the same as that of urban residents, but the marginal effect of per capita household net income on the other consumer groups is increasing year by year.Furthermore, based on the unconditional quantile regression model,Oaxaca-Blinder decomposition of the time dimension of consumption distribution is carried out to separate the effect of income fluctuation on consumption fluctuation. The empirical results show that the change of income factor has the greatest influence on the consumption fluctuation in different years, and the endowment effect of income change has higher impact on urban residents than that of rural residents. With the higher consumption points, the difference between urban and rural residents is also growing.
