While the problem of the difficult employment of university students has been increasingly concerned and studied by society, female university graduates’ employment encountering the problem of gender discrimination is more and more obvious. So, the article attempts to undertake theoretical and empirical research to study this problem, especially the female college students’ gender wage gap, then comes to conclusions and proposes some policy suggestions to solve this unfair phenomenon.First of all, based on the phenomena of previous studies, the article will analyze the authenticity and seriousness of the problem, which is the gender discrimination problem in the employment process of our country’s female university graduates. Secondly, the article will detailed analyze the theoretical basis and objectivity of the female college students’wage disadvantage by using some theories which conclude human capital theory, preference discrimination theory, theory of statistical discrimination, occupation isolation theory and dual theories of labor market discrimination, thus laying a theoretical foundation for the whole article. Thirdly, using the micro data of more than30colleges’ graduates to make a descriptive statistical analysis of the employment rate and gender wage differences, thus getting several conclusions which include that the female students’ employment rate is11percentage points lower than the males’, girls’ average initial monthly salary is221yuan less than the boys’, differences on the respective advantages and disadvantages of boys and girls, and what factors’ influence degree on respective initial monthly salary, which gives data supports and further evidences of the fact that Chinese female college students have disadvantages in the employment rate and initial salary. Furthermore, the article makes some detailed decompositions on the influence factors of male and female students’initial monthly salary to measure the degree of discrimination against female students in the STATA software using some wage gap decomposition methods which conclude Blinder-Oaxaca decomposition and Quantile decomposition. Then, these decompositions get a series of conclusions, such as that the wage gap caused by girls’ gender discrimination accounted for86.40%-98.90%of the overall wage gap; from Quantile decomposition, the wage gap between male and female students is minimal in the median and max in the lower quantile, and the gender discrimination in various quantile is generally high, to low quantile direction has an increasing trend while to the high quantile direction decreased, however, the overall gender discrimination in the high quantile is more serious than on lower quantile. Finally, according to the conclusions based on the theoretical analysis and empirical research, the article will put forward some policy recommendations suitable for China’s national conditions in order to fundamentally solve the problem of female college students’ employment discrimination in China.
