Research On Knowledge Risk Management Of Construction Projects

Knowledge management in construction projects is becoming more and more complex with the innovation of construction capacity and information technology.Compared with traditional resources such as labor,materials and machinery,the input and output of knowledge is accompanied by greater uncertainty and stronger risk.The construction project organization composed by different stakeholders forms complex structure which brings great challenges to the management of knowledge risk.In order to improve the present situation of knowledge risk identification and evaluation in construction projects,the thesis proposes a model of knowledge risk identification in the perspective of knowledge gap and a method of risk matrix assessment.Firstly,the study clearly defines the essence of knowledge risk from the theoretical level and confirms the relationship between knowledge risk and knowledge gap through literature studies.Secondly,the study establishes a construction project knowledge structure after analyzing of the characteristics of knowledge.Then,from the perspective of knowledge gap,project knowledge risk identification model is established.Based on that,qualitative data of a case is inputted to demonstrate and validate the model.Qualitative analysis is applied to the model to work out the risk source and risk types and then summarize the construction project knowledge risk identification method.On the basis of the risk identification result,the knowledge risk matrix and the expert scoring method is introduced to evaluate the risk.Finally,some risk management strategies are proposed for the case.Through case study,it is found that the main expression of low efficiency knowledge risk is superficial understanding of the owners.This risk is the most widely distributed knowledge risk.Knowledge sharing risk is mainly reflected in the information lag.This kind of risk is the most destructive one.The mismatching of knowledge structure and organization structure often manifests as new concept and new technology application barriers.The risk is very easy to be underestimated by executive.The results show that the model can fully glean value of the qualitative data and identify specific knowledge risk.The model developed the new knowledge gap perspective for the knowledge risk identification of construction projects and provided new thinking for the research and practice of project knowledge risk management.
