G Company has ranked as one of the world top 10 in threading industry segmentation for 10 consecutive years.G Company is an enterprise established in late 80s last century in China,striving to locating a right place in today's fierce and intense market competition and rapid development.After years of competitive threading of clothing market has been declining these years,the needs for strategic change has been necessary.The competition is inevitable to be met with a lot of pressures and difficulties.The training salesmen is to make sure that its new products have a long-run competitiveness position out of the others,and is to support the continuous fighting capacity of sales preventatives.In this context,the related concepts of competency model and theoretical basis are introduced firstly with the construction method and applications of competency model;Secondly,the present situation of G Company and sales representatives working in G Company are illustrated,the problems caused by lack of competence characteristics model was analyzed which confirms that it is necessary and critical to construct the competency model for the sales representatives.Thirdly,the initial competence characteristics of sales representatives in G Company are obtained by conducting the key action event method upon which the questionnaire is made to build up the competency model including 12 key competencies.Finally,the applications of competency model in training system are analyzed to make improvement plans.
