In the past thirty years,China's foreign trade has maintained rapid growth, which has become one of the important driving forces of China's economic development. However, from the perspective of the quality of trade products, the added value and technical content of export products is still low.High-tech industry has the characteristics of high technology and high value-added,so the development of export trade of high-tech industry will become one of the most important ways to change the mode of foreign trade. In the past twenty years, the export trade of high-tech industry in our country has developed rapidly and become an important growth point of China's export trade expansion. The emergence of the new trade theory makes people begin to pay close attention to the relationship between export trade and productivity. However, the existing literature mainly focuses on manufacturing industry, there are few researches on a certain industry. In this paper,high-tech industry as the research object,Study on the relationship between export trade and industry productivity of high-tech industry from two aspects of the whole country and region.Based on reviewing the relevant theories of international trade theory, this paper puts forward three influencing mechanisms,Malmquist index was used to test the industry productivity,And use industry panel data for empirical analysis. This paper tries to solve three problems:(1)whether the export trade of high-tech industry can affect the productivity of the industry?(2)How does the impact mechanism occur?(3)What is the difference between the effects of the region? The main conclusions of this paper are summarized as the following three points:(1)The growth of export trade of high-tech industry has a significant effect on productivity growth, but the promotion is weak.(2)Export trade promotes productivity growth mainly through the effect of export learning and economies of scale. After further study, export trade can only bring about the effect of external economies of scale by promoting industrial agglomeration technology spillover, and cannot affect the inter industry technology spillover.(3)In the sub region, the export of high-tech products in the eastern and central regions has a significant effect on the productivity of the industry, but the central promotion is weaker than the eastern region. The high-tech exports in the western region are not significant role in promoting. In the econometric model, the paper introduces the interaction terms, and analyzes how the export trade has an impact on productivity with other factors. The possible innovation of this paper is to study the impact of export trade on high-tech industry from two aspects:national and regional. In addition, the expansion of the measurement model to further examine whether the export trade through industrial agglomeration and inter-industry technology spillovers to bring external economies of scale. In this paper, based on the traditional fixed effect model and random effect model,we use the dynamic panel to further test the results, and exclude the influence of the model endogeneity on the empirical results. In this paper, the main problem is that we can not accurately measure the effect of the three mechanisms, only from the side of the investigation. In addition, the use of industry panel data for empirical analysis, failed to apply further research on enterprise level data.
