An Empirical Study On The Productivity Of High-tech Industry In Shaanxi Province

In recent years, the rapid development of high-tech industry has brought considerable economic benefits. However, due to the scarcity of resources, it is necessary for our country to improve production efficiency to maximize the utilization of resources.Shaanxi Province, is located in the central part of our country, the problem is more serious--no strong economic support, the lack of advanced technology and equipment, so how to effectively improve the production efficiency of high-tech industries in Shaanxi province to develop the local economy, is the key concern of the government of Shaanxi province.Based on the above background and the need for the development of high-tech industry, this paper takes the high-tech industry of Shaanxi Province as the research object.Research on the productive efficiency of high-tech industry in Shaanxi province and its influencing factors, in order to improve the production efficiency and develop regional economy in Shaanxi Province.The main innovations of this research are as follows:(1) Through reading a lot of literatures, this paper sums up the decision-making units in this paper;(2) Based on the analysis of the original intention of the DEA method, analyze the data of the decision making units of the high-tech industry during 2005~2013, and the input and output parameters of the DEA model were obtained by using the improved principal component analysis method;(3) Based on the DEA and Malmquist index model, the efficiency and the total factor productivity of high-tech industry in Shaanxi province were studied from two dimensions of static and dynamic;(4) Finally, the Tobit regression model is used to analyze the factors affecting the production efficiency of high-tech industry in Shaanxi Province, and the relevant conclusions are drawn.This research mainly draws the following conclusions:(1) There is still a big gap between the level of production efficiency in Shaanxi province and decision making units of high-tech industry. The average growth rate of totalfactor productivity of high-tech industry in Shaanxi province is faster than that of decision making units. And this result mainly depends on the progress of the production technology of high-tech industry in Shaanxi Province from 2005 to 2013.(2) From 2005 to 2013, the pure technical efficiency of high-tech industry in Shaanxi province has declined, which indicates that the technological and management level of high-tech industry has been hindered the rapid development of high-tech industry in Shaanxi province.(3) The research on the influencing factors: market structure, enterprise scale, state owned enterprises accounted for, education level have a positive correlation with the promotion of high-tech industry production efficiency in Shaanxi Province, while the investment of government funds is negative correlation with the promotion of high-tech industry production efficiency, The role of foreign investment enterprises in improving the high-tech industry production efficiency is not clear.
