In recent years,Inner Mongolia has improved in beef cattle breeding,production and processing,beef cattle breeding stocks and production ranked the national forefront.However,due to lacking of good varieties,high degree of scaled and standardized breeding,large-scale and specialized processing enterprises,Inner Mongolia domestic competitiveness of beef cattle industry urgently needs to be strengthened.Currently,Inner Mongolia responds to the call that our country promotes grass animal husbandry and transformation from grain base to forage reserve,it presents strategies implementing beef increase and mutton sheep stabilization,accelerating agriculture and animal husbandry,which bring new development opportunities to beef cattle industry of Inner Mongolia.The paper is established in the knowledge to research domestic competitiveness of beef cattle industry in Inner Mongolia,based on Michael E.Porter's diamond model to analyze status quo of domestic competitiveness of beef cattle industry in Inner Mongolia,establish evaluation index systems of regional and provincial beef cattle industry competitiveness,finish empirical research on these systems through main component analysis method,the key conclusions including the followings:(1)For provincial beef cattle industry competitiveness,Inner Mongolia has strong competitiveness in four aspects:industrial structure and competitors,production factors,relevant industries and comprehensive competitiveness,but relatively low at demand conditions competitiveness.(2)For regional beef cattle industry competitiveness,Xilinguole,Chifeng and Hulunbuir have conspicuous competitiveness in production factors,industrial structure and competitors.Baotou,Hohhot,and Ordos have demand conditions advantages.Tongliao,Chifeng and Xilinguole have competitive advantages of relevant industries.Xilinguole,Tongliao and Hulunbuir have conspicuous advantages in comprehensive competitiveness.(3)The major influence indexes of domestic competitiveness of beef cattle industry in Inner Mongolia are as follows:available grassland area,breeding cattle quantity in cattle farm,fine breeds quantity,beef cattle production and its proportion of total meat production,urban per capita disposable income,rural per capita net income.Finally,the paper puts forward some advice from breeding,production,slaughter and processing,circulation to enhance domestic competitiveness of beef cattle industry in Inner Mongolia.The research is to open minds of beef cattle industry practitioners on actualities improvement of breeding,processing and management,give some references for further studies,provide theoretical basis for the region's policymakers,and then contribute to strengthening beef cattle industry competitiveness.
