Economic Benefit Analysis For The Main Breeding Patterns Of Beef Cattle In Shandong Province

This study was conducted to evaluate the economic benefit and future development trend for the main breeding pattern of beef cattle(conservation farm mode,ordinary fatten mode and high grade fatten mode)using profit function and operation instance methods in Shandong Province.The profit functions of cattle were built from three aspects based on the fixed cow population size in different farm as follows.The first profit function was built using the theory of cattle production,animal nutrition,economics and animal breeding based on the investigated data.The second profit function was built according to the different rearing phase(calf,young cattle,cow and finished cattle)of cattle.The third profit function was built based on the correlation between beef price and feeding economic benefit.The economic benefit analysis in operation instance method was conducted based on the analyses of Luxi cattle breeding farm and Bohai black cattle conservation farm.Results showed that Luxi cattle breeding farm mode,Bohai cattle breeding farm mode,ordinary fatten mode and high grade fatten mode were-3840.00 yuan to 3017.00 yuan,-3526.00 yuan to 2141.00 yuan,-3728.00 yuan to 3009.00 yuan and-4534.00 yuan to 3974.00 yuan,respectively.Results also showed that there was a positive correlation between the economic benefit and beef price based on the beef price ranging from-25.00%to 25.00%.The economic profit loss points of Luxi cattle breeding farm mode,Bohai cattle breeding farm mode,ordinary fatten mode and high grade fatten mode were-10.00%,-10.00%,-10.00%and-20.00%of the beef price which were 67.00 yuan,63.00 yuan,56.00 yuan and 84.00 yuan per kilogram beef,respectively.Analyses of operation cases showed that the losses of Luxi cattle breeding farm mode,Bohai cattle breeding farm mode were 521.81 yuan and 657.70 yuan per day under the current feeding mode and the structure of cattle group.This research showed that the economic benefit of beef feeding was in a small profit or slightly deficient condition currently and the ability of resist market risk was weak in Shandong Province.The ways of developing beef cattle industry were extending beef cattle industry,improving production mode,enhancing beef cattle growth performance,enhancing manage level and then increasing anti-risk ability and profit margin.
