On The Challenges Faced By China’s "the Belt And Road" Strategy

“The Belt and Road” strategy is an important national development strategic planning China made out under new situations.With the increasingly deepening of globalization trend,all the countries in the world have deepened political,economic,cultural integration,especially economically.Facing the increasingly global world,every country needs to enhance the cooperation with others by different types and levels in competitions.In terms of China,after more than 30 years of rapid economic construction since the reform and opening policy,China’s economic construction has entered the new normal.On the one hand,there appears lack of growth in economic development,and some industries have a more serious capacity of outputs.On the other hand,the level of technology and equipment in some industries has a comparative advantage and a relative capital advantage in the international community,and some of our industries have the advantage and necessity to go abroad.“the Belt and Road” strategy is put forward in such a situation at home and abroad.China’s “the Belt and Road” strategic planning includes “the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road”.This major national development strategy is not only a strategy to cooperatively develop,complement each other and achieve win-win with countries along the "the Belt and Road ",but also a major move to achieve the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation,and thus of great significance.The strategy has been proposed since 2013 and is now being planned and implemented,and has achieved some results.However,such a major national development strategy is absolutely impossible to sail smoothly,and it is bound to face a variety of challenges.Firstly,it faces challenges from the global level.In terms of the international economy,the international financial order has been in stable,the global economy sluggish and weak in growth,and trade protectionism has become a weapon for a number of countries to cope with the international economic crisis since the global economic crisis resulting from the outbreak of the “subprime mortgage crisis” in the United States in 2008;At the political level,due to the advent of the era of globalization,the peace order of the international community is universally faced with challenges from traditional and non-traditional security factors,transnational crime and international terrorism.The vast majority of the countries along “the Belt and Road” are developing countries,and their social and economic development in many countries is lagging behind,their government weak,lack of authoritative legitimacy,resulting in domestic political instability,continual internal conflicts and terrorism.Some countries are even in a state of war,or in fragmented state;In some other countries,there exist problems of internal political fighting,the lack of trust in foreign capital and other issues;And there exist structural contradictions among some countries along the line which are difficult to resolve,and their relationship is abnormal.More importantly,due to the rapid rise of China,the United States,Russia,Japan,India and some other world or regional powers are suspicious and jealous of China’s “the Belt and Road” strategy out of power politics considerations.Secondly,from the domestic level,China’s western region is the important fulcrum area to promote the “the Belt and Road” strategy.However,due to geographical location,natural conditions,history and other reasons,compared with the central and eastern regions,these exist not only a serious lag behind in infrastructure construction,relatively backward social and economic development and other issues in these regions,but also the “Three Forces” of separatist forces,religious extremist forces and violent terrorist forces represented by “Xinjiang Independence” and “Tibet Independence”.Once these forces collude with overseas anti-China,hostile-China ones,there will pose great challenges to the implementation of China’s “the Belt and Road” strategy.In short,although “the Belt and Road” strategy our country is currently planning and promoting is to adapt to today’s domestic and international situations,a significant development strategy in line with the trend of the times,it is also to face with different levels of challenges,worthy of our high degree of attention from top to bottom.
