Industrial Structure,Urban Scale And Economic Growth In Metropolitan Area

The expansion of the city scale can produce economic benefits of scale,is the main driving force of the city at the same time,the optimal city size is a hot point for research in the disputed city,plays an important role in city development strategy and city economic development.There are many factors that affect the scale of the city,including industrial structure,land resources,livable environment,etc.,in which the industrial structure through the impact of the efficiency of the allocation of urban resources,constitute an important factor affecting the size of the city.Under the trend of economic globalization and regional economic integration,the agglomeration economic circle,which is the core of the developed countries,is the most important space carrier for the country to participate in international competition.There are still some gaps about the literature on the study of the city scale,research on the relationship between industrial structure and the influence of the optimal city size city industrial structure,city size and economic growth,it is necessary to further study.This paper is based on the theory of city scale,start from the city scale influence factors-the industrial structure,and take the Yangtze Delta metropolitan city as an example,the industrial structure,city size and economic growth into the same framework,research on industrial structure and city scale on the intermediary role of economic growth or the regulation and industrial structure adjustment effect under the optimal city scale.This study is mainly divided into three parts: first,describes the background,significance and research objectives,research content,literature review on the existing industrial structure and economic growth of the city scale,the relationship between the three and the optimal scale of city research,clear the existing limitations of the research,at the same time as the construction of the framework and analysis the research provides theoretical support.Then,using the method of combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis,this paper analyzes the mechanism of industrial structure and urban scale to economic growth and the optimalurban scale under the effect of industrial structure adjustment.Finally,this paper takes the Yangtze River Delta Megalopolis of two provinces and one city(25 cities)2005-2014 panel data as the study sample,study on the Yangtze Delta metropolitan industrial structure and city scale intermediary relationship or adjusting the relationship between the impact on economic growth,the problem of optimal city size and industrial structure adjustment under the effect of.The main conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1)The industrial structure has a direct positive effect on economic growth,but also has a negative effect on the economic growth.(2)Considering the nonlinear relationship between economic growth and urban scale,industrial structure will negatively regulate the relationship between urban scale and economic growth.(3)The Yangtze River Delta Megalopolis is to achieve the optimal city size maximum level of economic growth,and by the city industrial structure negative role: in the premise of this only considers the influence of industrial structure factors,estimate the Yangtze Delta metropolitan city of the optimal city size is about 5 million 400 thousand.Compared with the domestic and foreign research,the main innovation of this paper are:(1)The existing literature is lack for metropolis with industrial structure,the studies of city scale and the economic growth in Yangtze river delta megalopolis,for example,this paper first studied the metropolis with industrial structure,city scale and the relationship of economic growth,help to more accurately understand metropolis with industrial structure,urban scale and the relationship of economic growth.(2)The existing literature is lack for industrial structure through the intermediary role,city scale and the adjustment of industrial structure affect economic growth,the researches on the mechanism of the inner city scale of this study include the industrial structure,city size and economic growth in the same analysis framework,industrial structure is studied through the intermediary role,city scale and industrial structure adjust the inner mechanism of the urban size affect economic growth.
