Research On Impact Of Urbanization On Regional Industrial Land Use Efficiency

With the reform and opening up,urbanization and industrialization greatly boosted China's social and economic development.While enjoying the growth bonus,low industrial land use efficiency and high resources and environment costs caused by extensive land use patterns and cheap industrial land are arrived one after another.It is predicted that China's urbanization and industrialization will continue for a longer period.In 2020 year,urbanization rate will exceed 60%and industrialization rate will also reach 70%.At the request of The "Thirteenth Five-year" Plan to promote the new-type urbanization,how to continuously improve industrial land use efficiency is a vital problem to clear and solve.Therefore,there is a realistic significance of studying the impact of urbanization on regional industrial land use efficiency.In this study,on the base of a depth analysis of the connotations of urbanization and industrial land use efficiency,first in accordance with the core of industrial land return curve,this paper constructs a theoretical framework which based on urbanization,changing of factor inputs and shifting of industrial land return curve;and then used the macro data of China's provinces from 2006 to 2013,the paper studies and analyses the current status and trend of urbanization and industrial land use efficiency so that grasps similarities and differences between the two;finally,use econometric approach examines the impact of urbanization on industrial land use efficiency.Through theoretic and empirical analysis,the paper comes to basic conclusions as follows:(1)In the period of 2006-2013,there is an increasing trend in the level of urbanization.It also shows the characteristic that "the west being higher than the east",but the gap between regions shows a trend of convergence.Meanwhile,the mode of urbanization development is diversification.(2)Industrial land in many provinces are not fully utilized,and industrial land use efficiency has an obvious gradient disparity,which means the decline of land use efficiency from east to west.(3)The expand of city,accumulation of production factors,upgrading of industrial structure,technological innovation and sorting effect,growth investing,which are caused by the process of urbanization,all do have an influence on industrial land use efficiency.Different factors are in accordance with the different paths to changing of factor inputs and shifting of industrial land return curve,thus affecting industrial land use efficiency ultimately.(4)Urbanization has significantly positive effects on industrial land use efficiency.And land market development,scale of industry,industrial R&D(research and development)investment,structure of ownership and market of industry also have different effects on industrial land use efficiency.Moreover,note that different regions have different impacts.Based on the above conclusions,this paper presents corresponding countermeasures and suggestions from urbanization development and land use management.This suggests that government should promote urbanization step by step,and take a balanced development of urbanization in different regions into account.Meanwhile,developing land market,controlling scale of industrial enterprise should be implemented in order to boost regional industrial development.Finally,urbanization would drive industrial land use efficiency,reduce provincial differences,and achieve the goal of improving the level of urbanization and industrial land use efficiency for a win-win situation.
