In 2004,the shortage of migrant workers emerged in Dongguan suddenly.With the passage of time,the shortage of migrant workers has not eased,but intensified.This phenomenon has become the focus of media and scholars.Now,the shortage of migrant workers has become a long-term shortage of workers from the temporary lack of labor.This will not only bring some negative impact on the normal production and operation of enterprises,but also hinder the process of the urban-rural integration to some extent.Consequently,in-depth studies and analyses on the shortage of migrant workers are vital for Dongguan to promote rapid economic development.Firstly,this paper analyzes the situation of the shortage of migrant workers in Dongguan through the labor market segmentation theory,the labor transfer theory and the labor supply theory,and analyzes the characteristics of the problem from the gender,age,industry,industry and technical perspective.Then,the paper analyzes the causes of the problem from the government,enterprises and social perspective.Finally,the paper puts forward specific proposals and measures to improve status of the shortage of migrant workers in Dongguan.Based on the analysis,the shortage of migrant workers in Dongguan city is mainly manifested in the lack of young labor force in the age structure;and it is manifested in the lack of the female labor force in the gender structure;and it is manifested in the shortage in the third industry in the industrial structure;and it is manifested in shortage of general workers and technicians in the industrial structure;In industry structure,corporate demand for labor is mainly concentrated in the manufacturing,accommodation and catering industry and the wholesale and retail industry.In addition,the lack of government functions and the discrimination of the national policy system,the confusion of the enterprise labor market environment and the social widespread discrimination against migrant workers are the main reasons for the shortage of migrant workers.The problem can be solved by improving government policies,increase function building,strengthening corporate governance,innovating management ideas,improving social acceptance,improving rights protection mechanisms and other measures.
