Recent years,the trend of interest rate liberalization,that the entry barrier of finance industry is lower than ever which brings the boom of small and medium-sized financial institution and foreign banks,the development of e-finance and the recession weaken the competitiveness of State-owned Commercial Bank and caused challenge its future development.In consider of the situation the State-owned Commercial Bank face,it is necessary to change the traditional strategy and create a more objective and more scientific performance management method.The balance scorecard as a strategic performance management tool which both take the financial factors and non-financial factors into account,works through dividing the enterprise strategic objectives to the layers of decomposition,into four aspects of financial,customer,internal process and learn and grow to measure its performance.The balance scored helps penetrating the strategy into the whole procedure of performance management and evading one-sided performance assessment.Through introducing and analyzing the relevant theory of the balance scorecard,the management and the performance system of commercial bank,this article analyze the application of the balance scorecard in the case of Bank of X branch,find out the problems of the application,and then give some suggestions.
