Institutional Imprinting And Radical Technology Innovation

With the continuous development of China's economic reform and the improvement of market competition,to create "novelty" and achieve radical technology innovation become more and more important for the development of enterprises.But why it is so difficult for some enterprises to create "novel" even though they have innovative resources and ability? Based on the historical perspective,by integrating imprinting theory,institutional theory and cognitive theory,this paper explores the impact of the institutional imprinting on radical technology innovation and laid the theoretical foundation for enterprises to get rid of the bondage of institutional imprinting on the radical technology innovationThis paper summarized the related research of radical technology innovation,institutional imprinting,managerial risk preference and institutional environment,and analyzes the intrinsic relationship between the four variables through logical deduction,and constructed the theoretical model.The data were obtained from the questionnaire survey of 325 enterprises established before 1992,and the hypothesis were tested by statistical analysis software SPSS20.0 and AMOS19.0.According to the data analysis results,this paper draws the following conclusions.Conclusion 1: Institutional imprinting has negative impact on radical technology innovation.The higher level of the institutional imprinting,the level of radical technology innovation will be lower.Conclusion 2: The institutional environment moderates negatively of the negative relationship between institutional imprinting and radical technology innovation.When the institutional environment is better,the negative impact of institutional imprinting to radical technology innovation will be weaker.Conclusion 3: It is found that the institutional imprinting can directly affect radical technology innovation of the enterprise,and it can also affects the enterprises' radical technology innovation indirectly through managerial risk preference,the management risk preference plays mediation role partly between the two.
