Research On The Interaction Mechanism Between Service Industry Development And Technological Innovation Of China

Nowadays,as the industrial structure of China is escalating,the service industry is developing rapidly,and become the leading industry in promoting the economic growth.Technological innovation is moving towards new heights and becoming the driving force of economic growth.With the rapid development of modern service industry,the knowledge volume and the degree of specialization of service industry have been improved,and the connection with technological innovation has become more and more closely.The relevant government report has made it clear that it is necessary to implement innovation-driven strategy,improve the level of technological innovation,promote service industry development,and achieve the goal that the economic development is led by modern service industry.Simultaneously,theorists are increasingly concerned about the relationship between service industry development and technological innovation,and argue that the development of service industry has a significant impact on technological innovation and vice versa.This paper studies the existing research by collecting,sorting and analyzing,and find to expand the research from three aspects: The first is to study the interactive relation between service industry development and technological innovation,instead of studying the one-way relationship between the two aspects.The second is to take the manufacturing industry development as an endogenous variable into the study of the interactive mechanism,mainly because the manufacturing sector is an important carrier of technological innovation and mainly demands the service products,and plays an important role in the study of the interaction between the service industry development and technological innovation.The third is to incorporate the spatial factors into the construction of the empirical mode,under the view of the increasing inter-regional economic linkages.Therefore,on the basis of the previous research,combined with the relevant theories and models of technological innovation and the theory of industrial development,this paper puts forward the research ideas of this paper.First,in order to explore the interaction mechanism between service industry development and technological innovation in different periods,we select the two periods from 1990 to 1999 and 2000 to 2013,using the panel data of 31 provinces and cities in China,and construct the simultaneous equations model under the spatial and temporal correlation analysis of service industry development,technological innovation and manufacturing industry development,estimating the model and obtaining the empirical results by using the three-stage least squares method(3SLS).Secondly,to further confirm the national level research,and explore the interaction in developed provinces as well as making a comparison,this study selects two economically developed provinces,namely Guangdong and Jiangsu,and use the Panel data of the prefecture-level cities in these two provinces,and then build the model,respectively.Finally,on the basis of empirical results,this paper make recommendations for reference.Specifically,the study is divided into six chapters: the first chapter is the introduction,the second chapter is the theoretical basis and literature review,the third chapter is the basic development situation and relationship analysis of service industry and the technological innovation,the fourth chapter is the empirical model construction,the fifth chapter is the empirical result analysis,the sixth chapter is conclusion.The empirical results show that: First,both the national level and the economically developed provinces of Guangdong,service industry development and technological innovation have shown a direct relationship in the two-way promotion.The development of the service industry directly affects the technological innovation by improving the efficiency and quality of R&D activities,promoting the transformation of research results,as well as the internal technological innovation within the service department.In turn,technological innovation mainly promotes the development of the service industry by improving the quality and efficiency of the service department and optimizing the internal structure of the service industry.Different from Guangdong province,in Jiangsu province,technological innovation has an positive impact on service industrial development,but the development of service industry has not yet shown impact on technological innovation.Second,under the influence of the development of manufacturing industry,the indirect connection between service industry development and technological innovation is becoming closer.At the national level,the development of service industry indirectly improves the level of technological innovation by promoting the development of manufacturing industry.Due to the different industrial development model of Guangdong and Jiangsu,the two provinces show a different indirect relationship between the development of services and technological innovation,in Jiangsu province,technological innovation indirectly affect the development of services by promoting the development of manufacturing industry,but Guangdong has not shown this indirect link.Thirdly,both the national level and the two provinces,the development of services are showing a positive spillover effect,that is,the spatial dependence of the development of the service industry is growing.On the basis of the empirical results,this paper puts forward the policy suggestions from the following three aspects: The first is to further improve the technological innovation system of our country,raising the innovative demonstration function of developed provinces and cities.The second is to promote the integration of advanced manufacturing industry and modern productive service industry.The third is to continuously optimize the interaction model between service industry development and technological innovation.
