Since the accession to the WTO in 2001,China's dairy import trade has been showing an increasing trend year by year,and the dependence on a single market is quite high.Considering China's long term “market diversification strategy”,the analysis of China's dairy market structure and its factors is significant to optimize the market structure of China's dairy imports.First of all,use the market concentration rate to analyse China's dairy products import status and import market structure in 2001-2014,found that China's dairy imports surged,trade deficit widened.The main import products were dry dairy products,dairy products import variety bias is more obvious.Import market structure is relatively concentrated in New Zealand,Australia and other countries,import market concentration is rising.Secondly,use the market concentration index,matching index and structural change index to study China's dairy import market structure in 2001-2014,found that China's dairy products import market structure optimised,the dependence on a single market slightly descended.Its compatibility with world dairy export market has also increased,the structure did not change significantly,the market structure tended to be stable.However,the optimization between different markets and different products is slightly different,the optimization degree of fresh milk,whey and cheese is quite high,and the optimization degree of powered milk and cream,yogurt and butter is quite low,the market structure needs to be further improved.Thirdly,use Constant Market Share Model to study the market structure of dairy products and its factors in China,found that the market structure was affected by the structure effect,competitive effect and two order effect.The main influence factors is the competitive effect,China's huge demand for the European Union's and New Zealand's dairy products is the main reason for the rapid growth of China's dairy;besides,it affected by the world economic factors and import commodity structure,but the degree of impact on different countries is different.Finally,based on the analysis,put forward the corresponding suggestions to optimize the market structure of dairy products import.
