In recent years, there has been a gradual increasement in the demand of nutritious foods.Serious food safety problems such as the outbreak of melamine milk powder in 2008 have caused irreversible damage to people's physical and mental health.Sanlu Dairy,an unscrupulous merchant, has been punished appropriately. However, other legitimate dairy companies in China have also suffered huge losses due to these incidents. They are faced with a huge crisis of consumer trust and the import of dairy products seizes the market for domestic dairy products share. It is imminent to strengthen China's food safety regulation and enhance the international competitiveness of China's dairy industry.Scholars have studied the issue of dairy products safety control and the status quo of the international competitiveness of dairy industry.Based on the externalities of food safety regulation, information asymmetry and Michael Porter's theory of industrial competitiveness, this article discusses the impact of dairy product safety regulation on the international competitiveness of its industries from the perspective of industry internal factors and external factors. The intensification of food safety regulation will improve the technical level of dairy industry, optimize the industrial structure and enhance consumer confidence so as to enhance the international competitiveness of dairy industry. On the other hand, the intensification of the intensity of food safety regulation may increase the production cost and lead to its industrial competition force decreased. Finally, using the data of 1996-2015 for empirical analysis, draw the conclusion that the intensity of food safety regulation has a positive correlation with the international competitiveness of dairy products industry. Therefore, increasing the intensity of food safety regulation can improve the international competitiveness of China's dairy industry. This article is divided into five parts altogether. The first chapter is mainly the introduction part.First briefly introduces the background of the selected topics, mainly the serious crisis of dairy products safety in our country and the decrease of the market share of the domestic dairy industry.A brief introduction to the theoretical and practical significance of this study is given according to the phenomenon. And put forward the technical route and the introduction of each chapter. After that, the author summarized the opinions of scholars and made a simple literature review. It shows that the second chapter is the status quo analysis. It puts forward the current situation that the international competitiveness of dairy industry in China is not strong and the level of safety control of dairy products is low.The status quo of the low efficiency of food safety regulation in China is discussed by using DEA method. The third chapter is about the influence mechanism of food safety control on the international competitiveness of dairy industry. This part briefly describes the related theories of food safety control and international competitiveness of industry and analyzes the influence mechanism of food safety control on the international competitiveness of dairy industry. The fourth chapter is the empirical analysis of the impact of food safety control on the international competitiveness of China's dairy industry.Firstly, the selection of evaluation index and the related data are described. The data of 1996-2015 are calculated and sorted out,and the relevant index data are obtained.Regression analysis, and did a robust test. The results show that the intensity of food safety regulation is in direct proportion to the international competitiveness of dairy industry.Other influencing factors include the dependence on foreign trade, the exchange rate of RMB,the annual output of dairy industry and the per capita GDP have some impact on the competitiveness of dairy industry. The fifth chapter is the conclusions and policy recommendations, summarizes the conclusions of this article and puts forward some policy recommendations to enhance the international competitiveness of China's dairy industry.
