For manufacturing enterprises,the inventory problem is not only a key indicator of the success of business management,but also a determinant of the sustainable development of enterprises.In the supply chain management mode,the control effect of inventory management not only affects the comprehensive cost of the enterprise,but also determines the operation efficiency and competitiveness of the Whole supply chain.Therefore,it is of great theoretical and practical significance to study the inventory management in the supply chain environment.W company has leading technology and strong reputation in the instrumentation industry,and the development strategy of W company is "high-end,features,profession".Inventory is the core of enterprise material management.If Inventory takes up a large amount of capital,not only related to the company's operating costs and operational risks,but also affect the quality of customer service.Therefore,inventory management is essential for the daily operation of W company.The paper first introduces the concept of supply chain,supply chain management,and expounds the causes of the bullwhip effect in the supply chain.At the same time,it also introduces the inventory management under the traditional mode and the inventory management under the supply chain model.Then,combined With the status of W company inventory management,the system summed up the problems in its inventory management,and analyzed the causes of the problem.Finally,a method of optimizing management is proposed for different levels of problems:in the aspect of customer and demand management,a demand forecasting method combining qualitative and quantitative is proposed,and VMI strategy is adopted to optimize inventory management;in the aspect of internal management,W company can improve the inventory management organization structure and classify the inventory appropriately;in the aspect of supplier management,the paper puts forward four implementation methods consisting of the selection mechanism of the supplier implementation,perfecting the supplier selection mechanism,improving the supplier's evaluation system and strengthening the supplier's incentive.The paper aims to find a more effective scheme for the inventory management mode of W Company through the deep understanding of the inventory management theory in the supply chain environment and the reflection on the shortcomings in the real management.We hope that W company will be able to carry out more effective inventory management under the guidance of the new program.At the same time,We hope the suggestion and conclusion in this paper will be useful for other enterprises in the industry.
