Nowadays,3D printing technology is a revolutionary emerging technology.It combines traditional manufacturing technology with digital manufacturing technology,making a distinctive innovation ecology.3D printing technology plays an important role in domestic industrial upgrading plan.At present,3D printing enterprises in our country are facing a series of difficulties in expanding user market and improving innovation ability.Corresponding innovation management theory guidance is urgently needed.3D printing is a kind of technology which combine multiple and complicated sciences.And it is difficult for 3D printing technology to get some innovation.Innovation ecosystem theory can illustrate the dynamic innovation ecology of 3D printing very well.But existed innovation ecosystem theory is constructed based on traditional manufacturing technology.There is little research on digital manufacturing technology about innovation ecosystem.In addition,3D printing technology short the traditional supply chain,making the user to be a producer,and user play an important role in the innovation ecosystem.It means that 3D printing technology innovation ecosystem is obviously different with traditional manufacturing technology innovation ecosystem.Therefore,in a comparative perspective,we analyse the characteristics of 3D printing enterprise innovation ecosystem so that we can find critical factors to actually construct 3D printing enterprise innovation ecosystem.This paper build an innovation ecosystem analysis framework include four analytic units:value network,constituent elements,ecological niche identification and operation mechanism based on known innovation ecosystem theory.And then,this paper divide value network into value creation and value management;divide constituent elements into innovation entities and other elements;recognize ecological niche identification as dynamic innovation capability and network relationship intensity;recognize operation mechanism as opening mechanism and coordination mechanism.Based on this frame work,this paper do case studies on traditional manufacturing innovation ecosystem and 3D printing innovation ecosystem,taking Volvocars?3D systems and Stratasys as research objects.Through this two case studies,I found that Volvocars enterprise innovation ecosystem is just match “ Center —Periphery”model,Volvocars is the center core of its innovation ecosystem,and other innovators support the innovation of system.I also found that the core of 3D printingenterprise innovation ecosystem is made up of 3D printing enterprises and 3D printing material enterprises,which dominate the collaborative innovation among each element in the system.Furthermore,users occupy a relatively high ecological niche in the system.In addition,3D printing enterprise innovation ecosystem owns a open boundary.Next,based on the traditional manufacture enterprise innovation ecosystem,adding 3D printing innovation ecosystem characters,this paper build a 3D printing enterprise innovation ecosystem model.Finally,based on these findings,this paper gives few suggestions for domestic 3D printing company.
