Inter-generational Mobility Of Chinese Households

Social mobility is an important indicator of social fairness,and a good social mobility has great positive significance for establishing a fair society and promoting social vitality.Higher liquidity can reduce the gap between rich and poor of the society,reduce the inequality of income distribution,make the child's own ability and capital to play a bigger role,realize the unity of equality of opportunity and economic efficiency.However,at present,more and more young people follow their father's position,which seems to indicate that there is a serious class curing problem in China.In this paper,we explore the current mobility of Chinese households.Intergenerational mobility has been hot issues of economists and sociologists study,however,study of intergenerational mobility in China started late,and mainly focused on the discussion of intergenerational income mobility.This paper analyzes the problems of intergenerational mobility from the perspective of career and income,and tries to establish the relationship between the inter-generational occupational mobility and income flow,and develops new ideas for the study of social mobility.Based on the CFPS 2014 data,I calculate the intergenerational mobility of professional classes and the income levels,at the same time establish the regression model of intergenerational mobility from micro level to discuss family intergenerational mobility mechanism in our country.In contrast with existing research,this paper analyzes the current situation of the intergenerational mobility of urban and rural families based on the two perspectives of occupation and income.And selected sample under the age of 52,their basic covers 60s,70s,80s and 90s groups,can be fully reflect the intergenerational mobility since the reform and opening.This paper not only considers the changes of the children's professional class relative to the father's class,but also considers the influence of father's professional class on their children's professional class.In addition,this paper analyzes the relationship between intergenerational occupational mobility and intergenerational income mobility and the differences in the influence of intergenerational occupational mobility on the generation of intergenerational income in different groups.Based on the descriptive analysis and regression analysis of intergenerational mobility of Chinese families,this paper mainly draws the following conclusions:1.From the perspective of occupation and income,the current social class change inheritance is obvious in China,which has a short distance flow phenomenon,but there'less violent change in the social class;2.The children can realize the upward mobility of the professional class by investing in their own capital,but the professional class of the children is also influenced by the father,especially father's education degree;3.Both human capital and social capital will have an impact on intergenerational income elasticity,of which human capital has a greater impact;4.The intergenerational mobility of occupation is an important link to increase the mechanism of intergenerational income.But for different groups,it's different.This paper argues that in our society at present there is no completely curing "class"phenomenon,intergenerational mobility still exist,but social class inheritance effect is more obvious,and the flow is given priority to with short flow,suggesting that family factors in a certain extent,affected the children's social class,but children can still through the study of the human capital investment of its own behavior to improve their professional class,reduce the influence degree of the father of my revenue.And in this paper,the study found that for children in the family social class variables influence most is his father's level of education,namely the ascension of the family cultural capital has a significant positive significance to improve the intergenerational mobility.
