Project control is a very important component of construction project management.During the project control process, the expected target is not consistent with the intermediate result of the construction process, sometines even worse. Therefore,in order to achieve the expected objectives, the time, manpower and other factors need to be adjusted timely. If the proposed adjustment does not have a real effect on the outcome, the original project target will be reset accordingly. The process of project control is the rational evolution of changes and modifications. In China's specific construction projects, participants do not have enough knowledge about the three main elements, which are the quality, investment and schedule,of project control. The out of control of project quality, investment cost, schedule and other aspects not only causes wastes of resources but also badly impacts the local economic development. The optimal project control method is very important to strengthen the time limit control. In order to achieve this goal,Six Sigma management can be applied to the research of construction schedule control and optimization.Based on the theory of Six Sigma method and the construction of a public rental project in a county, this thesis discusses the implementation process and effect of Six Sigma in the construction project management. The specific chapters and contents are arranged as follows: the first chapter is the introduction. The second chapter mainly introduces the research status and research methods of Six Sigma in the progress of construction project schedule control, and expounds the origin of Six Sigma and application of DMAIC method in the optimization and control of construction project progress. The third chapter uses a public housing project in 2012 as an example and gives the first step in DMAIC,the project definition, including the project overview, the characteristics of the construction project and the existing problems. The fourth chapter is the measurement of the project, including the concept and content of progress control, the influence factors and related adjustment methods. The fifth chapter is the analysis and improvement of the construction project, including the connotation and principle of optimization, the improvement of basic method and project schedule control. The sixth chapter elaborates the control of the project after the above four steps, including the establishment of the construction schedule control system, and finally summarizes the whole thesis and puts forward some suggestions. In the last four chapters, the progress of the public rental project in a county in 2012 is analyzed in the order of definition, measurement, analysis, improvement and control.Chapter 6 concludes the thesis.
