The Research Of S&OP Optimum Proposals In S Company

With the development of supply chain management,sales and operation planning(S&OP)had been recognized as an effective planning procedure by more and more companies.It can help companies to balance supply/demand and extend integrated plans to whole supply chain members.This paper uses theories of supply chain management as base and points out S&OP withpositive impacts for supply chain integration and company S actual operation,which lead selected topic and research significance of this paper.Combined S&OP literature and basic knowledge,this paper also analyses current situation of S company S&OP and existing problems via theory& case research methods: longer delivery lead time to customers,poor sales forecasting,mis-understanding for current S&OP,higher excess & obsolete inventory,short-staffed for SCP.Then to define S&OP optimum proposals in S company from SCP points: develop 2nd source for main suppliers and implement VMI,hire more professional staff for scientist forecasting,involve top management into S&OP,effective judgment and timely clearance for E&O materials,add more SCP as backup.In order to guarantee these proposals implemented in S company,we also discuss available actions: assign cross-function team with shared KPI,emphasis other dept.for correct knowledge of SCP functions,strength communication and information shared during different teams.Finally is to summarize conclusions and deficiencies also overlook S&OP future prospects.The propose of this paper is to show S&OP positive roles to local companies,such as balancing supply/demand and improving competitiveness.Hope more and more local companies can get benefits from S&OP.
