ZT Plastics' Low-inventory Order-response Quick Response Study

In current fierce market competition,Made To Order has been an important production mode for manufacturing enterprises due to the existence of customer-demand-oriented tendency as well as the diversity and individuality of the requirements by customers.With the implementation of zero inventory management by more and more enterprises in the supply chain,a relatively higher order-response speed is required by those companies in cooperation with them,which is forcing the enterprises in the supply chain to make some changes.The quick response to customers' ordering achieved at their requests in the orders and with a low inventory is an important method to increase an enterprise's competitiveness.First of all,based on the research of relevant theories,the paper analyzed plastics company ZT's current status of order response and the reasons for its failure in quick response to ordering with a low inventory.Secondly,concerning the current problems in company,the paper proposed corresponding solutions from three perspectives of production-planning management,inventory management and supplier management,in combination with advanced theories on production,operation and management.At last,to guarantee the smooth implementation of strategies formulated previously in the paper,supporting measures were established from inside and outside of the company for the achievement of quick response to ordering with a low inventory in the company.
