The Research On Urbanization And Export Sophistication Of China

Since the policy of Reform and Opening,the development of global trade in our country has made great achievements,the ministry of foreign trade exports increased very rapidly.Along with the big scale of foreign trade,China's export sophistication has been improved greatly.Meanwhile,in recent years,China's urbanization rate has been increased rapidly,and in 2016,the urbanization rate of China was 56.1%.The scale economy,feature aggregation and innovative intermediaries of urbanization have a great influence on regional technology improved,Industrial upgrading and export structure.So,on the background of "The Belt and Road Initiative",As an export-oriented country,foreign trade development mode is in urgent need to transform.So research the relationship between urbanization and export sophistication has great significance under the such background.The influence of urbanization on export sophistication is illustrated from two aspects:on the one hand,This paper analyzes the transmission mechanism from the effect of feature aggregation,innovative intermediaries,spread of knowledge spillover and external economies of scale;On the other hand,broaden the theory model Metilz(2003),The paper also analyzes the relationship between urbanization and export sophistication with related data of 30 provinces and the city between 2007-2011 years in China.The conclusion shows that urbanization has a significant effect on export sophistication;The regression results shows obvious difference when using different area data,that is to say,different regional urbanization leads to different level of regional export sophistication.After the analysis of the theoretical relationship between urbanization and export sophistication,this paper measures the urbanization rate and export sophistication index of each area in China.By comparison,the urbanization rate and export sophistication index have been improved steadily.What's more,the paper also compares the urbanization rate and export technological structure of the east,middle and west area of China.The result shows urbanization rate and export sophistication index represent staged development,the east area the highest and the west area the least with the trend of gap expansion.Then this paper selects the panel data of 30 provinces in China from the year of 2007 to 2011 and empirically analyzes how the urbanization influences export sophistication.The methods of static panel and dynamic GMM are adopted successively to analyze the influence of urbanization on export sophistication in order to overcome the endogenous problems.The results showed that the urbanization has a significant positive effect both in static and dynamic panel analysis on the export sophistication;the regional urbanization has different influences on the export sophistication.In addition,similar to past studies,R&D,FDI,infrastructure and human capital also play an important role.Based on the analysis of the above,finally makes the following Suggestions:firstly,in order to enhance innovation and vitality,drive industrial upgrading and the development of new industries,we should continue to promote urbanization;secondly base on different situation,we should formulate different policies;thirdly,pay attention to the quality of urbanization,improve the capacity for sustainable development.
