Organizing is different from organization.Organization denotes a rationally designed, thoroughly structured social entity whose members work cooperatively towards an explicitly stated common goal.Organizing involves series of events and social interation processes through which adaptation, coordination, learning, and innovation take place, without a final end-state.According to the differences between organizing and organiztion,a form of organizing is also different from a form of organiztion.A form of organization is the organizational structure;a form of organizing, according to Puranam,Alexy, and Reitzig,is defined as a specific set of solutions to the four universal problems that any organization must address in order to exist(task division, task allocation, reward provision, and information provision).Compared with the large body of research about the relationships between organizational structure and organizational performance, there is little research about the relationship between forms of organizing and organizational performance. To fill this gap,a case study is conducted. The form of organizing of the powerhouse of E-City cigarette making company is analyzed from the perspectives of task division, task allocation, reward provision and information provision. It concludes that different forms of organizing results in different organizational performance, and the form of organizing with cultural motivating ability and learning ability results in better organizational performance. The two conclusions are obtained only from the case study,so more empirical studies should be conducted to consolidate them. The main contribution of this research is that it provides a new perspective of investigating the relationship between forms of organizing and organizational performance.
