Research On The Mechanisms Of Cluster Enterprises' E-business Practice Adoption Under Mutible Institutional Pressure

As one of the key projects of "the four repacement and the three fame","e-business replace the city" project has won great attention to the government of Zhejiang Province since it was carried out,and has promoted enterprises' e-business adoption with the policy of e-business.Industrial cluster is a major economic situation in Zhejiang Province,with characteristics of industrial agglomeration and regional concentration.Based on the characteristics of industrial clusters,cluster enterprises are faced with e-business promoting pressure from the regional government and the spontaneous community directly and forcefully.Institution is a key factor affecting the development of industrial cluster in Zhejiang,however,under the e-business promoting environment,different enterprises have made different choice of e-business adoption.What is the cause of this phenomenon?Previous research has answered from the institutional logical theory and RBV thery respectively,but the institional logical theory emphasizes the decisive role of the external institutional environment,the RBV thery emphasizes the important function of internal resources and ability.But there are still flaws,the institutional logical theory,especially multiple institutional logical theory emphasizes the conflicts between different institional logics,and relatively neglect the complementary relationship;while RBV theory neglect the deeper influence from external institutional environment relatively.Taking Zhejiang Shangyu umbrella industry cluster as an example and based on the past literature re-view,the institutional logic is divided into community logic and competitive logic,the community logic including regulative logic and normative logic.Based on the RBV theory and institutional logic theory,and with the framework of multiple institutional logic-selective coupling-differential responses,this paper exprore the mechanism of cluster enterprises'differential responses for e-business adoption.This paper is divided into two stages.On the one hand,based on the latest theoretical achievements of the institutional logic,this paper puts forward an opinion that the cluster enterprise' institutional environment is not competitive but dialectical,and test it theoretically and empirically.The research findings are as follows:first,the relationship between community logic and market logic is competitive,specifically speaking,normative pressure will promote clustered enterprises' e-business adoption,competitive pressure will drive enterprises to adopt the differentiatial strategy;second,the relationship between the community logic and the market logic is also complementary,specifically speaking,the interaction between competitive pressure and regulative pressure will promote the e-business adoption.This competitive and complementary relationship just confirms the dialectical view of the mutiple institutional logics of the cluster enterprises.On the other hand,based on the mutiple institutional logic view of institutional logical thery and the heterogeneity view of RBV theory,this paper puts network location and absorptive capacity as two important source of firm heterogeneity,and test it empirically.The results found:on the one hand,the community logic has different interaction effect with the degree of network centrality of cluster enterprises,amoing them,-central organizations of the cluster enterprises are more likely to adopte-business under regulatory pressure,while under normative pressure,the peripheral organizations are more likely to adopt it;on the other hand,the community logic also has different interaction effect with the degree of absorptive capacity of cluster enterprises,amoing them,higher absorptive capacity of the cluster enterprises are more likely to adopt e-business under regulatory pressure,while absorptive capacity of the enterprises has no effect of e-business adoption under the normative pressure.Finally,based on the empirical results,this paper puts forward that selective coupling is a desirable way to deal with the dialectical institutional environment.Through selective coupling,cluster enterprises can realize coordinated development of itself and its institutional environment.While at the same time,this research has important practical significance for regional governments to improve e-business policy and to improve the efficiency of business promotion.
