Research On The Efficiency Of Telecommunication Network Operators

In the face of cross-border competition,telecommunication network operation enterprises have made innovative attempts in service,business model and other aspects,and formulated the strategy of transformation.At present,how is the operation efficiency of the telecommunication network operation enterprise after the transformation?How to improve the efficiency in the future?These problems are of great research significance.This paper studied the efficiency of fourteen of the world's leading telecommunications network operators from two dimensions of economic benefits efficiency and social benefits efficiency by using the three stage DEA method,and the way to improve the these efficiency.This study found that:a large market do not good to the economic efficiency of which enterprises in the market,but has a negative impact on them.Besides,Information equipment popularity rate also has a negative impact on the communication network operation enterprises' economic efficiency.Tax informatization level has a positive impact on the social communication network operation enterprises' economic efficiency.Besides,this study also found that the economic efficiency of three communication network operators in China is lower than that of foreign enterprises,but their efficiency in creating social benefits is higher than that of foreign enterprises.The innovation of this paper is that through the three stage DEA efficiency method we estimated both the economic efficiency and social benefit efficiency,eliminating the external environment variables that may effect the efficiency evaluation,which made the evaluation results more objective.In addition,this paper studied the two dimensions of economic efficiency and social efficiency,and through the comparison of the two dimensions,the efficiency evaluation is more comprehensive.
