With the development of economy and society,increasingly fierce market competition and people's higher standards of life quality,all put forward higher standards for the fulfillment of corporate social responsibility.According to the report of 19 th CPC National Congress,there are series of new goals and new plans for the construction of ecological civilization and the protection of ecological environment,which fully reflects the importance of ecological civilization and environmental construction,it also puts forward new expectations for the performance of corporate social responsibility.So,under the age background,enterprises should pay more attention to improve the performance of social responsibility.On the one hand,it is a response to the call,and on the other hand,it can gain competitive advantage by fulfilling social responsibility.However,because of the separation of power,the executives are the actual operators of the enterprise,and they tend to ignore the obligation to fulfill their social responsibilities as self-interest.Theoretically speaking,it is very important to establish a reasonable compensation system to guide the strategic decision behavior of senior executives.O n the basis of Upper Echelon Theory,the background characteristics of top management team will influence the team's strategic decision making to a certain extent.Is there a relationship between the top management team background characteristics,executive compensation and the performance of corporate social responsibility? As well as,whether the executive compensation has a moderating effect on the relationship between background features of top management team and corporate social responsibility?Based on the above problems,this paper makes an empirical study on the relationship between the background characteristics of top management team,executive compensation and corporate social responsibility performance by combining theory with practice.Firstly,we examine the influence of background characteristics of top management team on corporate social responsibility.Then,we analyze the relationship between executive monetary compensation and corporate social responsibility,the relationship between executive stock ownership and the performance of corporate social responsibility.Finally,check whether the executive compensation has a moderating effect on the relationship between background features of top management team and corporate social responsibility.The results of this paper:(1)there is a positive correlation between the age,education background of top management team and the performance of corporate social responsibility.(2)The higher executive's monetary remuneration,or the higher coverage of the executive stock,it can positively affect the corporate social responsibility.(3)The relationship between the background characteristics of top management team and corporate social responsibility is impacted significantly by executive monetary remuneration,but not impacted by managerial ownership.Finally,combining with the actual situation and the research results,some suggestions about top management team building,compensation incentive design and performance assessment are put forward for enterprises to improve corporate social responsibility performance.
