With the rapid development of science and technology,the importance of creativity has become increasingly prominent.Leaders are facing the challenge of how to enhance the creativity of the team and their members.At present,transformational leadership in creativity has been widely accepted by scholars in our country.However,the specific mechanism which transformational leadership affects creativity did not reach a unified conclusion and need to explored in depth.The objective of this study is to extend examination of R&D member creativity.Drawing on The Motivated Information Processing,this study generated propositions concerning the relations of transformational leadership with R&D member creativity.The main difficulty of this study are as follows: Firstly,there has been a wide range of empirical studies on transformational leadership so far.However,studies exploring the creativity of R&D team's members are less in China.Secondly,most research focused on individual characteristics or team processes to exploring how transformational leadership promotes individual creativity,ignoring the relationship of these variables.This study follows the research methods of literature analysis and questionnaire survey.Firstly,the study reviews the recent research on transformational leadership,perspective taking,boundary spanning,creativity and motivated information processing;Secondly,this study analyzes the definition of those variables and conclude their dimensions,and reveal the relationship among transformational leadership,perspective taking,boundary spanning and creativity to establish the concept model and represent several research hypotheses;Thirdly,this study designs a constructed questionnaire about those variables and has conducted dyadic survey on 159 supervisor-subordinate dyads of 4 institutes in southwest China;Fourthly,the reliability and validity of questionnaire are tested by Cronbach's alpha coefficient and confirmatory factor analysis.Finally,this study analyzes the data of the survey with SPSS20.0,Amos18.0and Mplus7.0.
