Research Of Suppliers' Process Assessment Of Company MD

The appearance of supply chain management made the marketing competition changed from enterprises to supply chains.The suppliers' quality management becomes a significant factor of the supply chain competition.Automotive industry represents this competitive status.With more and more spare parts supplied by professional manufactures,so the quality of spare parts determines the vehicles'.In this context,the vehicle OEMs and their parts suppliers regard the management of sub-suppliers' quality as one part of their own core competitiveness.Nowadays,the emphasis point on supplier's quality management has changed from control the products to control the production process.So the supplier's production process assessment has a great significance on the quality level of supplier's products and their own products.In the meantime,how to evaluate the supplier's process effectively becomes a big problem for many organizations.Company MD,as a representation in automotive parts industry,in order to manage and control the suppliers' production process and ensure the quality of spare parts,they developed a process audit method to evaluate suppliers.After analyzing the relatively of the result of evaluation and suppliers' products quality performance,we found that they has a low degree of correlation.That means our evaluation cannot reflect the real quality management level of suppliers.So we need to find out the root causes and then try to revise the existing assessment method.That would be very important on improving the MD's supplier management and supply chain management.This dissertation reviews the basic theories of supply chain management and quality management.And then introduced some audit standards in automotive industry.Based on these theories and standards,analyzed the root causes of the low correlation between our evaluation results and quality performance.Limitation of the evaluation items,unscientific weight allocation for each item and the artificial disturbance affect the effectiveness of the evaluation.In order to solve these problems,refer to VDA6.3,we introduced some new items into the new evaluation check sheet.Then we used AHP to distribute the weights properly and FCE to process the auditors' evaluation result.Though researching the evaluation process of company MD,this paper achieves two objects.In one hand it provides a useful method to MD to control their suppliers' quality management and SCM.In the other hand,it provides a reference to other companies in automotive industry who also have similar problems in suppliers evaluation.
