Study On The Status And Development Strategies Of Potherb Processing Industry In Huating County

The development of potherb industry cannot only provide good and healthy foods for people's daily life,meeting the increasing needs for high quality living,but also help to enhance the development of the regional economy and society.The development level of the potherb processing industry limits the great potential of potherb industry.In this research,we conducted some surveys on potherb processing industry in Huating County as a case study.Wild vegetable resources,scale and level of potherb processing industry were investigated to analyze the characteristics and advantages.We also tried to elucidate the problems restricted the further development and gave some countermeasures.The potherb industry showed great potential to support the economic and social developments of this county.The potherb processing industry showed the following characteristics.There were rich and diverse wild vegetable resources in this region.Potherb processing industry has been taking shape and the level of processing skill and procedure was gradually improving.These achievements concerning the processing industry may be resulted from the following conditions in the county: 1)convenient transportation,2)excellent natural environment and agricultural resources,3)excellent talent base,4)government support,5)developing market,6)strengthened scientific research.However,the potherb processing industry in Huating County also showed some problems which retarded the further development.The production of edible wild vegetable was inadequate,while the protection and utilization of wild resources were not advanced enough.The processing skills didn't meet the market demands and thus high quality products were in short.And the whole industry was far from complete establishment.In order to promote the development of potherb processing industry of Huating County,the following measures were proposed: 1)to rationally utilize wild vegetable resources and enhance researches on wild vegetable cultivation,helping to increase the raw material supply for potherb processing industry.2)to improve processing skill and speed up the standardization of the processing procedure,3)to establish production base and further optimize managements.
