Our small and medium sized family business has experienced rapid growth after the primary stage.However,pure family business management model gradually exposed the draw backs and face difficulties,especially impacted by the flat global economic competition of the internet era,increased external competition and lack of internal management capacity development.To break the bottlenecks of the family business development and growth,more and more business owners introduce professional managers having the professional management talent to participate in enterprise management to achieve sustainable development.However,from some real cases can be seen,the cooperation between the small and medium family business owners and professional managers is unsatisfactory.More cooperation is failure case.This is contrary to the original intention of cooperation and its future is bleak.Author is a professional manager of a family business and experienced multiple cooperation success and failure cases.In this paper,through interviewing and presenting the real cases,reveals the contradictory between the family business owners and professional managers caused by the social environment,business philosophy difference,ability and experience lacking,lack of communication and other factors,the unsoundness of the system design(rights segmentation and the distribution of benefits conflicts)and other cooperation issues such as lack of full trust.Meanwhile,depending on the small and medium sized family business owners' leadership style and personality,the author proposes the counter measures and suggestions of overcoming the obstacles of cooperation from internal construction(enterprise level,professional manager level and the family business owner level)and external environment improvement of enterprise to promote the win-win cooperation of small and medium family business owners and professional managers,healthy development of the professional manager market and the sustainable development of small and medium sized family businesses.
