Hanwang Technology Co.,Ltd(hereinafter referred to as Hanwang)is the leader in the field of smart interactive products and character recognition technology all around the world.For more than 20 years,through continuous innovation,Hanwang has obtained a number of core technologies in optical character recognition(OCR),handwriting recognition,environmental testing and other fields,which has taken the leading position of the comprehensive technology and mean while keeps exploring the new technology.What deserves to be mentioned is that Hanwang won the First National Prize for Progress in Science and Technology by virtue of its handwriting Chinese character recognition technology,it also won the Second Prize by its OCR technology.It takes much work to make valuable products through combining the technology of Hanwang and other companies.During that process,marketing investigation is only one aspect while project management turns out to be very important for electronic product development.The author,who has been working in IT industry,undertook undertaken R&D(research and development)and project management work for a long time as well as acquainted with modes of product development in relevant IT companies,especially for Hanwang,in which company,the author witnessed the whole process of the product's development and project management.Therefore,in this paper,the author intends to make a preliminary exploration and research on electronic product development and project management of Hanwang based on working practice.First of all,this paper will put forward some existing problems in electronic product development and project management in Hanwang.And then,on the basis of relevant theories for project management,the difficulties in electronic product development and project management of Hanwang and the possible reasons will be analyzed.Finally,this paper will make some tentative proposals for improving project management,such as adjust organization structure,standardize the process,etc.This paper,through researching relevant theories and documents and referring to the author's working experience is to find out problems on project management for Hanwang,come up with improvement measures and explore advisable project management procedure from setting up a project to releasing the new product for such R&D-type companies like Hanwang.The author hopes that not only Hanwang could benefit from this paper for improving its ability of project management,but also other domestic companies engaged in product development could refer to it for their project management in the future.
