With the transfer of rural labor, expanding scale of agriculture, improving people's living standards, development of agricultural machinery service organization and increasingly fierce market competition, low-end agricultural products demand is gradually shrinking. By contrast, advanced, practical large agricultural machinery products with high-tech continues to expand its market share, agriculture products do not excessively pursue quantity growth any more, turn into the pursuit of quality. Therefore, the urgent challenge is, how to develop high-quality, low-cost products in a shortest time.Advanced product quality planning(APQP) is a structured method, which is used to define, develop and regularize the task, goal, plan and detailed steps of products and services, to satisfy needs and expectations from customers. In past, APQP has been used in auto industry, to shorten the cycle of product development, evaluate product quality and improve enterprise management capacity. This thesis applies the method of literature review and case study. First, we introduce requisite background and theory, such as project management theory, theory of new product development, product quality planning tool theory and related methods. Furthermore, we propose the drawback of company T in the new product development procedure, then introduce why APQP. Finally, by illustrating company T 180 horsepower tractor development project, and its details, we conclude the benefits of APQP in real scenarios, such as company T.This study helps company T to develop a better planning process for new product development, and shows an useful attempt for agricultural industry to implement the new product quality pre-planning, which has a considerable value for promoting enterprises to improve product quality, reduce cost, shorten development cycle of new products, and improve design success rate.
